    "This is brilliant news for our country," said Thomas Janke, candidate for the Wrekin.

    "The government was told in March not to waste this time and yet we appear to be no further forward six months later."

    Liberal Democrat analysis of new Home Office figures, published this week, has revealed that the Conservative Government cut funding to West Mercia Police by 6% in real terms between 2015-16 and 2019-20.

    According to Liberal Democrat analysis, total government funding to all 43 forces (in 2019-20 prices) fell from £8.48 billion in 2015-16 to £7.99 billion in 2019-20. 32 of the 43 forces across the country experienced cuts of 6% or more.

    The Lib Dem Focus team has secured a commitment to keep the Shawbirch East site as green as possible.

    Cllr Bill Tomlinson (Shawbirch), Cllr Karen Blundell (Apley Castle) and Cllr Karen Tomlinson (Dothill), working alongside local residents, raised a series of questions about the site at the full Council meeting in July . Local Lib Dem councillors have continued to work with the "Keep Shawbirch Green" action group, since the successful campaign to stop a polluting toilet roll factory on the site earlier this year.
