Roger Hughes selected for Hodnet Division

Roger Hughes

Retired farmer Roger Hughes has been selected to fight the Hodnet division for the Liberal Democrats.

Roger  loves our area but feels we have been let down by Shropshire Council in recent years. He  was born locally in Longslow. His father was a teacher in Market Drayton, and his grandfather was the blacksmith on the Styche estate. With deep roots here, Roger understands our area’s needs and will always put local residents first.

After a career in agriculture spanning 50 years, Roger is now retired. He was previously a Conservative Shropshire councillor for 12 years. He is now standing for election once again because he believes Shropshire Council has lost its way. Roger is standing as a Liberal Democrat because he believes that only the local Lib Dem team has a solid plan to turn around Shropshire Council

Roger wants to see vanity projects scrapped, a reduction in the use of expensive consultants, and money returned to the services that we need, such as fixing our crumbling roads. Above all, Roger will listen to you – and act on your concerns.
