Telford PPC Shana Roberts Welcomes Supreme Court Ruling

24 Sep 2019

Telford Liberal Democrat prospective parliamentary candidate, Shana Roberts, has released the following statement following the ruling by the supreme court today:

Telford PPC Shana Roberts

"I welcome the fair and just ruling made by the Supreme Court today, declaring that the suspension of parliament was indeed unjustified.

No one, not even the Prime Minster, should perceive themselves to be above the law.

It is as if Johnson and Cummings had some secret Machiavellian playbook with a '100 tactics for over privileged toffs to get their own way' which they are working through at some speed. 'Number 47 - 'mislead' the Queen so you can shutdown parliament and get started with your long awaited dictatorship'. Let us not forget that Boris's ambition at one point was to be 'King of the World!'

Johnson has hijacked our parliamentary processes, broken our laws and exploited our monarchy. How many more lies does he have to tell? How many more votes does he have to lose? He has made a mockery of our constitution, our country and the very foundations that our democracy was built upon. He is not my Prime Minister and I call on members of the Conservative Party to denounce him and his fraudulent actions, and demand his resignation.

No more games!"
